A research-based community awareness
program about the prevalence of violence in the lives of young women
Purpose of the
Workshop :
To provide a comprehensive training on the
prevalence of violence in the lives of young women and their children
Content of the
Workshop :
- Case study illustrating the life of a survivor or
child sexual abuse
- Violence issues prior to and during adolescent
pregnancy
- Subsequent abuse in children of adolescent mothers
- Research findings of the relationship between
violence and adolescent pregnancy and parenting
- How to develop community awareness activities on
MAPPP
Workshops are
designed for:
- Agencies that work with pregnant and parenting
adolescents
- Educators and school administrators
- Counselors
- Community action agencies
- Domestic violence workers
- Health care providers
- Child care providers
- Child abuse workers
