Over the past five years the Greene County Commission has decreased the support they provide for the office of the Greene County Extension Council from $100,000 to only $10,000. Local MU Extension offices are partnerships between MU and local County Commissions. The local Commission funds the office and MU Extension provides funding for staff salaries, training and equipment. A minimum of $72,000 a year is needed to properly funding a basic, functioning office.
