Children's Programs

The Master Gardener'sf of Greater Kansas City support children's programs in the community. There are four types of children's programs available: Booths and Festivals, School Enrichments, Community/Civic Programs, and A Resource Guide to Establish Gardens.

The BEANSTALK is a children's gardening museum, a living-growing-learning experience for elementary school children. The BEANSTALK is a unique and colorful learning experience for children of all ages. It is a living, growing, changing garden with something new happening every day. Children who visit will have an exciting "hands-on" opportunity to learn about gardens, plants, food production, nutrition, insects and animals, environmental issues, other cultures, and more.

Garden guides will host each visiting group as it journeys through demonstration gardens with plantings of vegetables, fruits, herbs, flowers and grains. The Curiosity Garden is a special place filled with strange and unusual plants. This wonderful garden adventure will engage all of the senses - seeing, touching, smelling, tasting, hearing. Guidebooks are available for self-guided tours.

The garden will be open for field trips to children in grades 1-6 from schools, non-profit organizations, scout troops, camps, church groups and other interested parties. Maximum size group is 25 children, a minimum of 6. Reservations are required. Cost: $2 per person (for children & adults)
