Master Gardeners

Master Gardeners are individuals who enjoy learning and sharing their gardening knowledge with others. There are no prerequisites, except to have an interest in gardening, a willingness to learn and a desire to give back to local communities through volunteer service and education.

To become trained as a Master Gardener, individuals must attend the 30-hour classroom core training and agree to provide 30 hours of volunteer service to their community in approved University of Missouri Extension activities by November 30th of the year following the core training.  Watch the calendar for upcoming training dates. After completing training, Master Gardeners expand the reach of University of Missouri Extension using research-based horticultural information to answer gardening questions in their local communities.

The Gasconade County Master Gardeners meet on the second Tuesday of the month to learn, share project ideas and opportunities, and take care of business.

In 2018, Gasconade County Master Gardeners submitted a total of 615.75 volunteer service and training hours to the community.
