Prioritizing Your Time Part 1

Time is a unique resource in that everyone is given a gift of 24 hours each day. How you invest that gift is a major factor in how you feel about your life. Think of time as one of the tools that you have available to reach your goals. The best thing you can do is take charge of your time and invest yourself in those things that matter most in your life.

Try using one the following methods be more effective with your time:

§         Assume ownership of your time. Give your time freely when you want and do not feel guilty when you do not allow others to waste it.

§         Continually check yourself to see that you are working on the most important things that need doing. Helping your child talk through a problem he or she is having may be more important than getting the dishes done or a load of laundry completed.

§         Learn to say “no.” Rather than feeling guilty, try focusing on the important things that will get done because you did.
