Take
Back Your Time
It’s time to accept the fact that you do not have time for
everything. First, you need
to identify what matters most to you. Make conscious choices about what
you’re going to do. And do not feel obligated or guilty about all the
other things.
To get back your time and make what counts matter most try the
following:
-
Plan
with the end in mind. To reach your goal by the end of the year, what
do you need to do between now and then to accomplish it?
-
Avoid
time wasters like perfectionism. Your house doesn’t have to be
spotless. While you’re waiting, catch up on reading material, pay
bills, and write thank-you notes.
-
Try
some time savers like returning phone calls all in a row and cook
meals over the weekend to make your mealtimes during the week go
smoother.
-
Adopt
a “less is more” philosophy. Clutter is caused by indecisiveness.
Pretend that you’re moving and go through everything as if you had
to pay someone to move it. That usually prompts a decision of whether
to keep, fix, or throw the item away.
