Family Nutrition Education Programs Nutrition and life skills for Missouri families Displays The Show Me Nutrition Education Displays are professionally designed bulletin board displays with handouts that feature researched-based information from University of Missouri Extension. They are designed for teachers and school staff. They can provide training for teachers and staff and support school wellness policies. They are portable and can be used in a variety of settings and provide visibility for FNEP and University of Missouri Extension. The primary target audience is food stamp eligible youth. The Show Me Nutrition Education Displays are designed to reach educators and school staff who will take the information to their students. With these displays we are “training trainers” to deliver good nutrition messages. Educators will gain nutrition and wellness knowledge from viewing the displays and sharing that knowledge with their students either by teaching them concepts or by setting a good example in choosing healthier foods and increasing their physical activity. NPAs in the schools will set up displays and collect match. Guidelines for using the Displays and the school staff sign-in sheet may be found at: http://extension.missouri.edu/fnep/teaching.htm. Display pieces may be downloaded for use in regions. Match The staff person (NPA) hosting the display in their school collects match. The standard match form is used. Staff sign-in sheets are used to support in-kind match collected (see Staff sign in form file). Teachers/school staff view the displays and document how much time they spent and if they plan to use the information. The criteria used to collect match is as follows:
