4-H How to Join

4-H is the youth development program of Land-Grant Universities. No matter where they live; city or country, all girls and boys may join. 4-H membership is open to all.

In 4-H, kids learn practical living skills through projects that interest them. Clothing, photography, arts and crafts, fishing, rocketry, cats, dogs, rabbits, horses and plants are just some of the projects kids can choose from. The "hands-on" learning approach of 4-H helps kids build self esteem and good communication skills. Parents and other adult volunteers make a positive difference as they help youth grasp new ideas and skills.

For more information on how to join 4-H, call your county Extension office. Your county 4-H agent will put you in touch with a local 4-H club in your neighborhood and help you join the 4-H family.
