The College of Agriculture played a large role in the development of the University of Missouri, which was established as a land grant university. This book describes that role and the college's activities from its beginnings in 1870 to the recent past.
Through people, events and original pictures, the College of Agriculture's past comes to life. Histories of each department as well as organizations including the Missouri Farm Bureau and the extension service are included.
History sections also include University administrations, experiment stations, finances, student activities and international education.
Photographs include those from Farmer's Fairs, classes at the turn of the century and several buildings still used on campus today.
This is an interesting history about agriculture and education and how they worked together to help farmers and the agriculture industry evolve to today's levels.
