Exam proctors

Question

Do you provide proctoring services for students in distance learning programs? If yes, how can schedule this service? What fees do you charge?

AnswerSeveral of our programs (Center for Distance and Independent Study and MU Direct: Continuing and Distance Education) may require proctors for exams. Some proctors charge, and others don't. Missouri students typically take their tests at local extension centers, most of which don't charge for this service.

Online statistics class for nursing degree

Question

How do I enroll in an online graduate statistics course for my nursing practice doctoral program?

AnswerMU's School of Nursing master of science students take 7170, Introduction to Educational Statistics to fulfill their graduate statistics prerequisite requirement. For our doctoral students, this would be the first of three statistics courses required in their program.

Prior to enrolling in this course, I would recommend checking it out with your faculty adviser. If the course is approved, you would go to the MU Direct Web site to register.

High school correspondence course records

Question

Can you tell me who to contact about high school correspondence courses I took through the University to complete my high school requirements? I took the classes in 1963 and 1964. I never received a certificate or a diploma and I would like to locate the records to see if I completed my requirements. If I didn't, then I would like to take GED classes?

AnswerRecords before 1981, including correspondence course grades, were reporting directly the Office of the University Registrar. So you should contact them directly to research your previously completed independent study coursework.

Please know that our Center for Distance and Independent Study can still help you to complete your high school diploma via independent study. Please contact the student services coordinator at MU High School, for more information if you are interested in pursuing that route.

However, if you decide you are interested in a GED, I've been told you will need to contact the Department of Secondary Education in Jefferson City.
