Online courses about depression in schools

Question

I am a recreational therapist at a private school. I would like to take a class to enhance my skills and complete required CEU's. I have a masters level degree and can take both undergraduate and graduate classes. I prefer to take classes online. Do you have something dealing with depression and education of elemenatary, junioir high and high school students? I have taken almost all your psychology classes as an undergraduate

Answer We have courses and degree programs that fit your interests very closely.

Through MU Direct: Continuing and Distance Education, you can take individual online courses or earn either a master of education degree or an educational specialist degree with a focus in mental health practices in schools. This one-of-a-kind program is completely online and is offered by the College of Education's department of educational, school and counseling psychology, which is ranked as one of the top departments in the country.

That same department also offers two courses through the university's Center for Distance and Independent Study.

You can enroll in the independent study courses any day of the year and take up to nine months to complete each one. The courses through MU Direct are semester-based and allow for interaction with classmates.

Complete degree

Question

I attended MU from 1992 through 1996. I was to complete a three-credit course to graduate, but was unable to finish it within the time alotted. This has not hindered my career, but what can I do to receive my BA degree?

Answer Depending on what your degree is in and what type of course you need, the Center for Distance and Independent Study ( 800-609-3727) may be a good place to start. The center offers courses that you can take no matter where you live. You can enroll any day or the year and take up to nine months to finish a course.

I will forward your message to the center's student services staff so that someone can follow up with you. That person will probably suggest that you touch base with an MU adviser in the department where your major is. Before enrolling, you'll want to make sure that the course you take fulfills the degree requirements.
