Strategic planning 

As a fee-based service, ExCEED provides strategic planning to include a variety of fee-based community trainings and capacity-building workshops that utilize the Strategic Doing™ method.  Using this tried and true method developed by Purdue, ExCEED assists communities in creating plans that emphasize community visioning. The Strategic Doing™ method highlights strategic collaboration as one of the most powerful means of moving an organization forward. Sharon Gulick, director of ExCEED, is a certified Strategic Doing™ guide. 

Training and capacity building

Fundamentals of Economic Development: This service, provided by ExCEED, can be presented through fee-based workshops focusing on economic development processes, trends and emerging issues. Each workshop can be easily adapted to fit an individual community’s needs based on pre-existing knowledge of economic development principles, strategies and tools. The duration of workshops ranges from two to four hours or a full day. For more information, please refer to the workshop brochure. 

Stronger Economies Together

Stronger Economies Together (SET) is a community development program initiated by the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development in partnership with the nation’s Regional Rural Development Centers and land-grant university partners. The purpose of SET is to encourage communities and counties in rural America to collaborate on a multi-county basis to strengthen regional economies based on current and emerging economic strengths of their region.
