An Epsilon Sigma Phi meeting of the Alpha Tau Chapter was held Tuesday, May 22nd at Conservation Hall (Auditorium) Natural Resources Building, Columbia, MO.  The meeting was called to order at 5:11 p.m.  Mark Stillwell, president, called the meeting to order and welcomed members and guests.

Secretary’s Report – A copy of the minutes were made available and Rhonda Gibler indicated that they could be read if it were the desire of the group to do so.  Members elected to approve the minutes as posted to the website without reading aloud.  Tom Henderson moved to approve the minutes, Bill Casady seconded and the minutes were approved.

Treasurer’s Report – Bob Schultheis reported that we currently have $6502.44 in available operating funds ($552.75 in checking; $5,960.69 in money market; and $11 in outstanding checks.) Bob reported that several of the trips we sponsor were under budget as the individuals taking the trips found other sources to help offset the costs.

Nancy Flood moved the treasurer’s report be accepted.  Mary Simon Leuci seconded.  Treasurer’s report was approved.

Committee Reports:

Public Issues Leadership Development (PILD) report:  Beverly Maltsberger was the ESP representative on the PILD trip in April.  She reported that it was a very worthwhile trip that others should consider in the future.  On the trip they learned about the Farm Bill and CREATE-21.  There were good discussions with legislators.

75^th Anniversary Committee: Rex Ricketts thanked the committee members for great work in putting on the “dream catcher” activity earlier in the day at the opening session of annual conference.

Awards Committee: Joe Koenen reported that applications would be due approximately September 1^st and that more information would be available on the website in the coming months.

Missouri Galaxy Conference:   Mark Stillwell reported that the Extension administrative team had approved to provide $5,000 in support for another Galaxy conference to be held.  The expected dates of the conference are Oct. 10-11.  There is discussion regarding the location of the conference and Mark encouraged input be given.

Life Committee:  Tom Henderson and Sandra McKinnon announced three new life members, Cassie Venters, Gail Carlson, and Nancy Flood.  Nancy was present and received her plaque.  Sandra provided a PowerPoint trip down memory lane to the dates in which these colleagues began their careers in

Induction of New Members: Beverly Maltsberger and Sandra McKinnon inducted Debra Davis and Julie Royse as new members of the Alpha Tau Chapter.  Other new members since the meeting in October BJ Eavy and Maude Kelly were not present to be inducted at the time. 

Memorial:  Mark Stillwell led the group in remembering Extension colleagues who had passed away since the October 10^th meeting.

National ESP Meeting:  Mark announced that the national meeting would take place September 10-14 in Charleston SC.  He highly recommended the meeting and complimented the quality of the meeting content.  Registration information can be found at the National ESP website at http://espnational.org/2007NationalMeeting/index.htm.

The original Chapter Charter document from 1930 was made available for viewing at the meeting.

Mark Stillwell inquired if there was other business, seeing none he declared the meeting adjourned at 5:42.
