Epsilon Sigma Phi Board Meeting

Call to Order: President-elect Mark Stillwell called the Centra meeting to order on February 26, 2007 at 10:00 a.m.
In attendance: Mark Stillwell, Beverly Maltsberger, Bob Schultheis, Janet LaFon , Jo Turner, Joe Koenen, Marsha Alexander, Mary Leuci, Nancy Flood, Sandra McKinnon, Sandy Stegall, Rex Ricketts
Minutes - In Rhonda Gibler’s absence, Mark asked Nancy Flood to take minutes of the meeting. The minutes of the August ’06 ESP executive committee meeting were approved as posted to the Web.
Treasurers Report – Bob Schultheis gave the treasurer’s report. As of January 31, we had $2781.49 in checking and $5677.41 in our money market. After the outstanding checks and deposits, we currently have a balance of $6463.90 in operating funds available. Janet LaFon moved to accept the treasurer’s report, Marsha Alexander seconded. Motion passed.
Old Business:
Budget – Bob presented the budget. It was based on 58 returning members and we currently are ahead of that number. Rex moved to accept the budget. Motion died for lack of a second. Jo Turner asked if $100 for 75th Anniversary was sufficient. Sandra suggested adding an additional $40. Bob also reported that we have $216.60 to the positive from the Hugh Keith Memorial Bike, Walk and Golf Event. Jo Turner moved that the budget be amended to add $100 to the 75th Anniversary fund and add $100 to the Hugh Keith line. The funds would come from the proceeds from last year’s event. Sandra McKinnon seconded. Budget was accepted as amended.
2006 ESP National Meeting – Nancy, Rex and Mark reported on the meeting in Annapolis, Md. Five from Missouri attended: Mark Stillwell, Rex Ricketts, Nancy Flood, Beverly Coberly, and Mary Leuci who presented at the conference. Alpha Tau chapter received the Chapter of Merit recognition and a $25 gift certificate for merchandise from national ESP. Mark thanked Nancy and Sandra for efforts to increase membership which contributed toward the award. All were encouraged to attend a national meeting.
North Central JCEP -- Mark announced that North Central JCEP will be held in St. Louis February 27-March 1. He and Beverly Maltsberger will represent Alpha Tau chapter.
PILD -- Beverly Maltsberger will represent our ESP chapter at the Public Issues Leadership Development Conference (PILD), April 23-25, 2007 in Arlington, VA. Sandy Stegall, Public Issues chair, gave the list of the entire Missouri delegation, which includes representatives from each of the professional associations, as well as administrators and Extension Council representatives.
Annual Conference --
Mark announced that the ESP Breakfast and business meeting at annual
conference will be held Thursday morning, May 24, at 7:00 a.m. New members
will be inducted at that time. Maurice Berger will be honored at the annual
conference general session as the ESP Friend of Extension on May 24. Sandy
Stegall requested the nomination materials for the annual conference
program.
Sandra McKinnon asked about using the ESP panel at annual conference with a
membership display. It was agreed that she order it.
New Business:
Newsletter Deadlines—Beverly requested articles for the newsletters by March 9 for the next newsletter. Sandra suggesting adding Alpha Tau Chapter to the newsletter header.
National meeting -- Mark announced that ESP 2007 National Meeting September 10-14, Charleston, SC.

Announcements
Mark requested the board meet again in late April or early May.
Rex moved to adjourn the meeting. Bob seconded. Meeting adjourned at 11:40 p.m.
