Call to Order: President Nancy Flood called the Centra conference to order at 9:05 a.m.

In attendance: Mark Stillwell, Bob Schultheis, Wilma Jean Lower, Marsha Alexander, Sandra McKinnon, Jim Ollar, Nancy Flood

Minutes - Bob moved to approve minutes posted to the Web site. Sandra seconded. Minutes were approved.

Treasurers Report – Bob highlighted financial report sent by e-mail Saturday morning. We have $638.25 in the treasury and $5,118.66 in savings with a total of $5756.91 in available funds. Membership for this year remains at 66. Marsha moved to accept the treasurers report, Sandra second, motion passed.

Awards committee – Marsha said that award forms have been updated and due to Marsha on September 11, 2006. Recipients will be recognized at Galaxy Conference in October and again in 2007 Annual Conference. The committee will increase efforts to meet March 1, 2007 national deadlines and forward award applications to national committees. They are working to increase communications on the award options, nominations and recruiting of applicants. Bob has placed the new award information on the ESP web page under “Awards” at http://extension.missouri.edu/esp/awards.html

Loan and fellowship committee – Lisa sent a report. 41 individuals have received $30,652 from 2001 through 2005. Bob will put this information on the web page under Loan and Fellowship at http://extension.missouri.edu/esp/loanandfellowship.html

Membership – Sandra is working to solicit and collect dues. This will be emphasized at Galaxy Conference in October. Sandra created a new brochure and PowerPoint to help with recruitment. She is working with the membership committee to review brochures and help with recruiting. Working on the new member induction and membership packets for Galaxy Conference. Nancy will get a list of those who register at Galaxy Conference and invite them to attend our meeting.

Marsha moved and Bob seconded to purchase incentive gifts for the first 10 new members. Spend $10 per new member up to $100 total. Motion passed. Sandra will select gift items

Memorial recognition -- Wilma Jean had submitted a report of names electronically. She is working on a theme for the Memorial Service at Galaxy Conference. She asked Nancy to find out if it will be held during the final luncheon or at the ESP meeting.

Professional improvement – Rhonda was ill. She sent a report that the mini-grant will be used for visioning session at Galaxy Conference – October 9, 2006. The results will be shared with our new Extension Director. Bob Broz will facilitate the discussion. From the grant, $125 per association will be available for the visioning session to help representatives cover the room costs. ESP will have one representative. Mark will try to adjust his calendar to attend. Nancy and Mark will work together to be sure that ESP is represented.

Elections – Nancy reported for Jo who had a conflict with the meeting. The slate of officers was included in the newsletter. It is also available online at http://extension.missouri.edu/esp/archive/annualmeeting/2006/2006annualmeeting.html.

Report of Audit – Rhonda sent a report. Everything was fine. She is preparing a report and includes a couple of recommendations. Thanks to Bob for his leadership as treasurer.

Life Member report – Jim Ollar reported that fall regional meetings are scheduled. Spring regional meeting are being planned.

Bylaws update – Nancy reported for the committee of Jim Ollar, Miranda Duncan and herself. We reviewed the suggested changes and approved updates as appropriate.

Updates will be sent to membership to be approved at annual meeting.

Extension golf, bike and walking event September 15 – Jim reported that registration brochures are out and available. ESP will help sponsor the event this year. Bob will be taking registration. Jim will be available to help distribute ESP information at the Golf event. Nancy will work with Jo Turner to have handouts available for the bike and walk event.

Galaxy Conference – Nancy announced that the annual meeting will be 10:30-11:30 a.m. on October 10. Committee reports are needed at the meeting. Bob will post the information on the web page at http://extension.missouri.edu/esp/archive/annualmeeting/2006/2006annualmeeting.html. Committee chairs, please email your report to Bob by October 1, 2006.

75th anniversary – After board discussion, Jim moved, Sandra seconded, motion passed to kick off the 75th anniversary celebration at Galaxy by serving ice cream. 50 servings of ice cream will cost around $25.
