Emerald ash borer program

Welcome to Missouri’s emerald ash borer (EAB) information source. Missouri’s EAB infestation was discovered July 2008 in the campground at the Wappapello Lake U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Greenville Recreational Area in Wayne County. The insect has since been found in Bollinger, Butler, Madison, Perry, Pulaski and Reynolds counties in southern Missouri and in Jackson and Platte Counties in the Kansas City metro area.

Missouri continues to wage a battle against this tiny, invasive insect that includes detection surveys, regulation and education to help protect the state’s ash population.
