Bud Reber
Bud Reber has
served as director of East Central Region of University of Missouri Extension since March 15, 1999. He was permanently appointed to the
position after serving as interim regional director for six months. His
office is located at University of Missouri-St.
Louis.
A resident of
Troy, Missouri, Reber provides administrative leadership for outreach and
extension activities in the region’s counties:
Franklin,
Jefferson,
Lincoln,
Montgomery,
St.
Charles, St.
Francois, Ste.
Genevieve, St. Louis
County and City, Warren
and Washington. He oversees the
extension activities of the region’s 45 specialists, 4 part-time and 17
educational assistants in 4-H Youth and Nutrition Education and 22
professional secretarial staff.
Reber’s
extension experience dates from 1982, when he began an eight-year stint as
extension livestock specialist in
Reynolds
County. In 1990, he transferred
to Lincoln County to assume the duties of the county’s livestock
specialist. While in that position, he also provided administrative
leadership as Lincoln County program director from 1991-98.
Prior to
coming to extension, Reber worked as an animal science research associate
with the University of Missouri at the North Missouri Center in Spickard
from 1976-82.
Reber earned
a B.S. degree in animal science from Southwest Missouri State University
in 1973 and an M.S. degree in animal husbandry from University of
Missouri-Columbia in 1975.
