2009 PEACH GROWER'S MEETING
On Thursday, February 19, University of Missouri Extension is sponsoring our annual Peach Grower's Meeting starting at 5:00 P.M. at the SEMO – Malden, Harry L. Crisp Bootheel Education Center in Malden. We will be hearing several presentations as well as talks from two keynote speakers.
The first speaker will be Dr. Elana Garcia, associate professor and extension horticulture specialist in the Department of Horticulture at the University of Arkansas. Dr. Garcia’s area of focus is fruit. She will discuss results of the latest cultivar study from the University. In addition she will update and review nutritional needs for peaches.
Our other speaker is Mr. John Avery, Agroforestry and Propagation Research Associate with the Missouri State Fruit Experiment Station. Mr. Avery will relate practices that can be used for control of Japanese and June beetle pests in practical applications for orchards.
