Dent County Agriculture
The 2002 U.S. Census of Agriculture revealed that there were 693 farms in Dent County.  The market value of agricultural products sold by these farms totaled $10,216,000, with $9,204,000 representing livestock and their products.  The Missouri Agriculture Statistics service reported that in 2002, there were 34,768 cattle in Dent County.  From these statistics, it is clear that livestock production is quite significant in Dent County and beef cattle represent the largest enterprise.
