The Ron Walker Memorial Camp Crowder Scholarship

The Ron Walker Memorial Camp Crowder Scholarship Fund was established in honor of Ron Walker, NW Regional Camp Director who passed away in December of 2011.  Ron believed that every child should have the opportunity to attend camp. The Ron Walker scholarship funds are available to 4_h youth who attend Camp Crowder 4-H Camp at Trenton, MO.

Ron was a tenured 4-H member as a youth, and Ron spent most of his parenting years guiding his children down the same path.  For ten years, he served as 4-H youth specialist for Buchanan, Andrew and Holt counties, as well as CPD for DeKalb County.  Ron believed in the merit and value of the camp experience for youth, and he was especially proud of giving new life to the 4-H program at Camp Crowder.  Under his guidance it became one of the strongest camp programs in the region.

If you wish to apply for a scholarship, please complete the application form available from your county 4-H office or at  www.extension.missouri.edu/daviess or above and return it by March 15 to: Buchanan County Extension, 4125 Mitchell Ave., St. Joseph, MO 64507.
