GENERAL
1. BEDDING WILL BE PROVIDED, NO ADDITIONAL BEDDING ALLOWED.
2. Exhibitors must be 4-H or FFA members enrolled in respective livestock projects and in good standings from any Missouri County.
3. Animals must be bonafide property of the exhibitor and be part of his/her 4-H project or FFA supervised farming operation according to state rules of each organizations.
4. 4-H/FFA Member Partnership-4-H member whom own breeding livestock partnership may have them registered jointly and each member may show the same number of head as if the animals were individually owned. Partnership is defined ownership by two or more 4-H members from the same family. Entry Sheets must identify which animals are to be shown by each exhibitor.
5. Exhibitors are limited to two entries in individual classes.
6. No animal shall be shown in both breeding and market classes.
7. Showing assistance-All entries must be shown by the individual 4-H or FFA owner unassisted. Superintendent may make exceptions to this rule by allowing another 4-H/FFA member to show an animal in case of illness or physical handicap or if two animals are permitted in the same class.
8. HEALTH AND REGISTRATION PAPERS MUST ACCOMPANY ALL SPECIES OF ANIMALS. There will be a check of animals and sent home if not current health papers or no health papers. Will follow current Missouri Department of Agriculture Veterinary Rules. Refer to the Missouri State Fair Livestock Entry. On the web site http://www.mostatefair.com.
9. The breed eligibility of an animal for a class shall be determined by guides set forth by the respective breed association and interpreted by the Fair Board.
10. Male breeding stock except horses must be registered and papers shown when entering Stock. Boars must be raised by the exhibitor.
11. Exhibitors can show NO bull, boars or rams in showmanship classes.
12. Uncontrollable animals or animal which the exhibitor cannot handle alone may be disqualified by the Superintendent and required to leave the ring and/or barn.
13. In breeding animal classes, there will be breed champions only.
14. Only blue ribbon animals will be eligible to show for Champion, Grand Champion and Reserve Champion.
15. Point values earned by the following classes of animals:
Horses at Halter & Beef: Blue 6 points, Red 4 points & White 2 points.
Swine & Sheep: Blue 3 points, Red 2 points & White 1 point:
Goats, Rabbits & Poultry: Blue 2 points, Red 1 point , NO WHITE
16. Junior & Senior Showmanship will be determined by age of youth on the date of the show.
17. Only 4-H & FFA Exhibitor owners are eligible for Showmanship.
18. No parents in the ring during showing.
19. Exhibitors must have ring card available and on them for the class in the rings they are showing.
20. If animals fall below 10 head in any species they will be put on probation and the Show Committee will review the species and decide if they will provide a show the following year.
21. Herdsman ship awards will be given to most outstanding exhibitor in Beef, Sheep and Swine Based on:
1) Cleanliness, grooming and appearance of exhibits:
2) Handling of feed, equipment, etc., and keeping same out of the alleys;
3) Cooperation, courtesy, and sportsmanship in the exhibit area and show ring.
22. No unethical show practices shall be permitted as per Missouri State Fair Rules, Including but not limited to:
Pumping, artificial filling, artificial hair, ice shock, injections, etc.
23. A $250.00 Scholarship will be awarded to a deserving youth and paid when proof of post secondary enrollment has been provided. Due by April 1, 2010 to Mary Jarboe.
24. The Show Committee will make final ruling on interpretation of all rules. Their Decision is FINAL.




1. Open to all 4-H & FFA members living in Daviess County and enrolled in respective Livestock project or belonging to 4-H Clubs or FFA Chapters.
2. DAVIESS COUNTY LIVESTOCK SHOWS will be shown in conjunction with THE DAVIESS COUNTY INVITATIONAL LIVESTOCK SHOW.
3. Same rules, regulations and classes will be used for County Show as used in Invitational Livestock Show.
4. Daviess County Show exhibitors need to make sure they indicate on the Ring Card that their enrollment county is Daviess County.
5. County Show Champion will receive ribbons.
6. Participants in the Pee Wee shows will be awarded Gold Dollars sponsored by the Jim Doak Family and the Frank Dunnington Family.

1. Entries in the beef steer classes must have been dropped after January 1, 2008.
2. Steers will be shown by weight.
3. HOME BRED & OWNED STEER CLASS: Calf must be out of a cow you owned at the time she was bred and calved on exhibitor's farm. These will show with all other steers. Highest place in the class will show for Grand Champion Bred & Owned.
4. 4-H & FFA members can show bulls in all bull classes. All bulls must be broken to and USE a nose lead and must be double tied.
5. All beef cattle will be charged a $3.00 per head stall rent and collected when you sign up.
6 All cattle need to be double tied.

Bucket Calf Rules: Class #230
1. Exhibitors must be enrolled n appropriate project in 4-H this is Project # 135.
2. Calf must be born between January 1, 2009-June 1, 2009.
3. Calf must be owned and hand fed by exhibitors since 2 weeks of age.
4. Calf must be owned and hand fed by exhibitors since 2 weeks of age.
5. Calf may be any breed: Heifer, Steer or Bull.
6. Calf is not eligible to be shown in other Beef classes.
7. Calf should be broke to lead and shown by proper methods according to Beef Breed.
8. Classes will be broken by exhibitor's age if necessary.
9. Criteria for Judging:
25% Showmanship
25% Condition, Health and Grooming of Calf
20% Quality of calf (structural soundness, etc.)
30% Records & Knowledge (Judge will talk to exhibitor)
Suggested for youth 8-12 years of age. Those who have had their 13th birthday by January 1, 2006 would be ineglible.

Sheep Rules:
1. Abuse of Animals: Should any Physical abuse be observed toward an animal either in the barn or in the show ring, Superintendent has the authority to eliminate show animals and exhibitor from the show.
2. Market Lamb-(Ewe Lamb or Wether)
3. All Market Lambs will be slick sheared.
4. Sheep must be shown with all (4) four feet on the ground. NO ice or ice water may be used externally or internally as a fitting practice for 4-H/FFA Market Lambs.
5. No Exhibitor may show the same animal in Both Breeding and Market Classes.
6. All Sheep will be charged $2.00/Head pen rent.
7. No Rams in Showmanship.
