ERIC
Committee
November 13, 2008
Present: Jeannie Anguaoui, Michael Goldschmidt, Jackie Hickam, Dudley Kaiser, Karla Terry, Scott Kelly, Mickey Reichel, Tom White, Troy Thurman and Todd Lorenz. Todd opened the meeting to present an update of the previous evening’s Extension Council meeting. He asked for support in giving a 15 minute ERIC presentation to the Human Services Council at the Senior Center on December 1, at 12:00 noon. Todd gave out the final draft of the tri-fold presentation. In an effort to make every county citizen aware of the public participation during the Charrette, they will be direct mailed to every household in Cooper County. Along with that mailing will be information supporting the Foundation that is being established. Next on the agenda was an update from each of the subcommittees: · Food Committee: Jackie and Dudley are working aggressively toward a menu to serve an estimated 20 people at each meal. They are well on their way · Building Committee: Paul was unable to attend and Jeannie gave his update on progress for additional donors. She has been in the loop on web access for the building. Mickey indicated that a new satellite tower was being installed today. Phil mentioned that a wireless antenna is on order and should be in on Monday morning and installed shortly. He gave an update on electrical and heating issues. The tables and chairs and likely the gators will be delivered on Monday or Tuesday of the Charrette week. · Marketing Committee: Jeannie gave an update on the form letter invite that was developed for mailing directly to distinguished guests. Todd has e-mailed the county school districts inviting the student government/civics classes to come to a portion of the Charrette to see a grass root movement in action. A mail list has been developed for both county and city officials and state and federal legislators. Mike, Ronn and Todd will work on the list to be mailed to University Officials. Todd presented Ronn’s final draft of the Schematic Design Program. This document puts into words all of the interior and exterior activities with approximate space needs for each. This is the starting point for the architects so they have an understanding of where the committee is currently in discussions. Todd mentioned that some misinformation has been spreading around the area on the Charrette process. The marketing committee is working on PSA to local media, leading up to the Charrette, which should be an opportunity to get the accurate information out to the public. The IDA has requested the committee come to their meeting on Thursday, November 20 at 5:30 p.m. to clarify some of the misinformation. Paul indicated that he would be available to present but asked any of the committee to be present as well. Next meeting will be at the 911 Center on November 20 at 6:30 p.m. Meeting adjourned 8:15 p.m.
