ERIC Committee (Click Here to View Print Friendly PDF Format) In Attendance: Tom White, Ronn Phillips, Jackie Hickam, Candy Sorrell, Paul Davis, Dudley Kaiser, Todd Lorenz, Chris Holliday and Karla Terry. Chris Holliday, representing WPW, was asked to present to the group. Chris indicated a need to move forward on the impending stimulus moneys in a cooperative model. Chris indicated that he was shovel ready with infrastructure and would like to present the ERIC in the package. Two examples of agreement letters were shared. Tom discussed the granting process and the “weeding” that takes place for those that are not shovel ready. Dudley indicated that the Foundation recently had their first meeting and that the key component was long term planning that includes facilities. They should know of the 501C3 status by May. Combining proposals might improve our chances. Jackie asked for clarification of infrastructure and what all that would include. Chris indicated waste water facility, dirt movement, streets and utilities. Ronn proposed combining the two versions of letters into one and offered to do the transformation. Ronn also indicated that some of the students in architectural studies would be participating in a more detailed set of drawings and electronic simulations than what time allowed for during the charrette. He indicated that we proceed with whatever will help the infrastructure if we still retain the responsibility of refining. Jackie motioned to proceed with cooperating in a joint effort of the ERIC committee and WPW in securing stimulus immediately contingent upon rewording of the proposed letters. Paul second. Vote was unanimous. Meeting adjourned 1:10. Return to Cooper County Extension home page
