Poverty Guidelines July 1, 2000, to June 30, 2001
On Tuesday, February 15, 2000, the federal Department of Health and Human Services updated its poverty guidelines to account for last Calendar year's increase in prices (as measured by the Consumer Price Index) for all 50 states and the District of Columbia. The guidelines for the 48 contiguous states and the District of Columbia are:

For families with more than 8 members, add $2,900 for each additional member.
