Farm Safety Day

A Progressive Farmer Farm Safety Day is for children, ages 9-13. The event is sponsored by Cole County Farm Bureau.

Through hands-on activities, participants learn how to prevent farm incidents and how to reduce the extent of injuries if incidents do occur.  Interactive demonstrations by local community members will reinforce safety, responsible decisions, and respecting parents’ safety rules.

Safety Topics being offered this year are:
* Animal Safety    * Electrical   * Large Equipment  * Fire Safety   * PTO
* Severe Weather   * ATV    * Lawn Mower Safety   * First Aid

Farm Safety Day sponsors hope children attending will maintain their new safety attitudes and safe farm behaviors throughout their lives.  Ultimately, they hope to see a reduction in the rate of deaths and injuries among children on the farm.

Parents interested in learning more about this one day event need to call the Cole County Farm Bureau at 636-2131.   Spacing is limited and there is a small fee.
