How To Control Cash Flow

Course Description:  This is an introductory course and the second in a series of three courses.  The course is designed for business owners, managers, accountants, bankers, and consultants who need to know how to turn financial statements into useful management tools.  During this course, participants will take a close look at where cash comes from, where it is used in day-to-day business, and how to identify and correct cash flow problems.  Students will prepare a cash flow statement using a balance sheet and Income statement and analyze the resulting cash flow statement. Participants will leave this session with a greater understanding of how cash flow can be used to drive business decisions.

Learning Objectives:
-  Identify key information on Cash Flow Statements
-  Identify where cash comes from, where cash goes, and how to control it.

Time:  Three hours

Course Material: A calculator for those who did not attend the first seminar and all student handouts

Instructional FormatLecture and discussion along with practical exercises

2009 dates at the UM Extension Center in Cole County:

April 16 from 1 - 4 pm and again from 6 - 9 pm

October 15 from 1 - 4 pm and again from 6 - 9 pm.

Cost:  $60 per individual program.  Enroll in all four programs (Understanding Financial Statements, How To Control Cash Flow, Predicting Future Cash Needs and Pricing for Success) for $200.  Pre-registration is required.
