Projects: Think 4-H is only for farm kids? Nope! The Shootings Sports projects are our most popular with 40% of our members involved one of the disciplines. Projects descriptions for this and the 150 other projects are available at the Missouri State 4-H website.
We have a few volunteers who have agreed to lead projects for the all the 4-H members in Cole County. These projects include: Goats, Home Environment, Horse, Poultry, Rabbits, Shooting Sports (Archery, Air Rifle, Smallbore Rifle, Air Pistol, Shotgun, Smallbore Pistol, Muzzleloading, and Hunting & Outdoor Skills), and Veterinary Science. Join 4-H Today!! Members: To join 4-H, please fill out an Enrollment Form and turn in to your Club Leader. See the list below to find a club near you. Annual dues vary between the clubs. Health Forms are required for most events. This is good information to turn into your club leader, too. Scholarships are available. Please do not let costs be a burden. We have ways to help everyone become involved. Jr. Leaders: Membership is open to all 4-H members in Cole and Osage county ages 12 and up. Members elects a full slate of officers plan their own community service, leadership and social activities with the help of their adult sponsors. The Jr. Leaders sponsor the annual Achievement Night and serve as Jr. Superintendents for the Cole County Fair. Past activities have included sponsoring an lock-in, mystery dinner theater, and assisting with the military support group. Currently this group is working on improvement to a park on the east side of Jefferson City. Please join us! We like to have fun, even when we are working!! Meetings are traditionally on the 3rd Tuesday at 6:30pm. Be sure to check the calendar for our next meeting date! We would love to see you!! Volunteers: We need volunteers! Please complete a Volunteer Application Form. If you are a member of a club, please turn in the form to your Club Leader. If you are not involved with a club and would like to volunteer, please return to Volunteer Application Form to the Cole County 4-H Office. All volunteers must complete an Orientation Process. You have several options: Online: You may complete your training online at: http://blackboard.missouri.edu, Contact the Extension Office for username & password. One-on-One: Contact our office to have Brocke schedule a time to go over the training materials with you. Club Meeting: Brocke can come to your club meeting to train your volunteers. Contact the Extension Office to schedule a date! DVD: There is a DVD that you may check out from your local Extension Office.
