Introduction
Individualized Professional Development Experiences (PDEs)
provide an alternative means of securing in-service education not available
in the annual Program Implementation Experience offerings (PIEs).
Both PIE and PDE experiences should support planned or potential programming
and individual professional development needs.
Appropriate activities for Individualized PDEs include: program development skills (technology; program evaluation; instructional design; techniques of teaching); subject-matter updates; and core competencies for Extension educators.
Proposal Requirements
A proposal for Individualized Professional Development Experience
must be submitted for administrative approval at least 30 days prior to
the scheduled experience. The proposal should include information
on the following items:
2. Brief explanation of your learning objectives related to this Individualized PDE.
3. Brief explanation of your proposed learning activities. If a conference or seminar is the focus of this IPDE include the title, date and location of the session. Attach a copy of the agenda or registration information, if available.
4. Explanation of how this learning experience relates to your individual development plan, position description, and performance expectations.
5. Explanation of how you will evaluate what you learn from this experience.
6. A time frame for the experience.
7. Number of other days of approved PIE and PDE for program year (July 1 -June 30).
