Minutes
The regional council met March 4 at the
Boone County Extension office. The
following were present:

James Rogers gave a report from the
council training committee noting there are power point presentations available
at the local level. The committee
is working on a power point presentation at the regional level.
Howard Simmons, our MECCLC
representative informed us that MECCLC meets the 2nd Friday of each
month. They have been reviewing the MECCLC by-laws.
Certain programs need to be more enforced. Bill Bishop was elected alternate MECCLC representative.
On budgets and staffing update: Saline
and Howard counties have both taken significant cuts that will probably have an
impact on staffing.
The following were elected for the
upcoming year:
Chairperson: Jim Crocker-Boone
Vice Chair: Larry Lackey-Morgan
Secretary: David Sublete-Audrain
Mark Stillwell gave staffing update
Boone Co/.B&I position has been offered to John Parfet
Pettis Co/. B&I position has 6 interviews
4-H Chariton/ Has made an offer
4-H Audrain/ Has interviews on March 20
NR Engineer Cole/ has hired Tim Roberts to start June 3
TCRC Coordinator Jefferson City offer has been made to Keith Krumbly
Julie Middleton gave program
On marketing Extension with Message Maps
Extensions goal is to let people know how it helps improve peoples lives.
Several handouts were given out to help you as council understand
how to get the message out to the public.
Julie asked us to check with local offices to see if we have a county
message map and if not when will we get one!
Regional budgets
Mark handed out county extension council funding guideline sheets and also
budget comparisons for all counties. With this material counties can see
how appropriated funds stack up with what projected target funds could be
with their number of specialist positions.
