The Regional Council met September 8, 2003. 

The meeting was called to order by chairman, Jim Crocker.

Howard Simmons, MECCLC representative, gave a report from last meeting.

He reported where funds are appropriated and openings available.

It was reported that the Extension Weekly will be e-mailed every Friday.

Council Leadership Development Committee update was given by Mark Stillwell.  October 9 is Training Workshop in Jefferson City for regional council members to be able to train local council groups.  Sherri Kempf moved to include at the next meeting discussion about paying mileage for council members who will be going to training meetings.  Motion died because the next meeting would be after the training workshop.  Mark will try to arrange local meetings.

Mark also spoke on regional staffing.  There are two positions to be filled this year. 1.Morgan county Agronomy  2. Chariton county 4-H Youth Development.  It was also asked/discussed that after the first of the year if money is available for two more positions, what would we like to fill?

Mark reviewed regional travel.  He is proposing a 5% increase for next year.

Meeting adjourned.  The next meeting will be held December 1,2003, 7 p.m. at Boonville.
