What Do You Know About Poverty in Missouri?

4. Missouri employers must pay at least the:

a. Incorrect

Employers must pay the higher of the two. Starting January 1, 2013, the Missouri minimum wage increased to $7.35 per hour. Starting in July 2009, the federal minimum wage increased from $6.55 per hour to $7.25 per hour. Because Missouri's minimum wage exceeds the Federal minimum wage, employers are obligated to pay $7.35 per hour (the higher of the two wages).

The Missouri minimum wage will adjust for inflation on January 1, 2014. Again, whichever of the two wages is higher will apply.
