Keep Your Finances Organized

Concerned about Y2K and possible problems with your finances and investments? Here are four suggestions to be ultra cautious. Come to think of it, this is good advice for everyday.

  1. Become an organizer of financial records- keep copies of your statements, transactions and bill payment records as documentation.
  2. Never give out personal information to anyone who contacts you. Some con artists are using Y2K as a ruse to get access to your money.
  3. Don’t panic and make rash decisions about your investments. Think about result tax consequences and potential income loss. Stay the course consistent with your goals and risk tolerance.
  4. Make sure key information is organized and handy; including names and addresses of your financial institutions, mutual fund companies, utility companies , broker, etc.
