Teens and Car Shopping
Choosing and buying a car can be a very good experience for teens. It teaches the need to budget, not only for the cost of the car, but for insurance and maintenance as well. It also teaches what needs to be done in order to take out a loan and repay it. And, of course, it is a lesson in how to choose which car to buy. Of course, it is never wise to jump into a purchase without some guidelines to follow. Any teen will want to follow these steps before buying a car:
Decide how much can be spent, including a loan
Browse several automobile dealers
Collect price information
Consider the optional equipment
Choose a car model and take it for a test drive
Ask a mechanic to check out the car
Investigate warranties, and
Negotiate
