Ways to Succeed in a New Workplace
One good thing about moving to a different worksite or starting a new job is the opportunity it gives us to become the person and employee we really want to be. If you find yourself in a situation where you can be the new you at your workplace, you might try some of these suggestions to help you along:
- Consider the inevitable change that occurs as an opportunity for growth.
- Develop the ability to move forward.
- Learn more about the people youre working with.
- Watch for stereotypes.
- Master the art of inquiry.
- Learn as much as possible on your own.
- Invest more of your time figuring out how to get something done.
- Dont jump to conclusions.
- Dont be shy about your accomplishments.
- Seek out real and authentic feedback.
And give yourself a few minutes each day for meditation and reflection. We all need a time for mental, not physical activity--a time to step back and think about thinking.
