Financial Management in 8 Minutes a Day
Few people actually enjoy the tasks involved with money management. Most people spend minimum time on these routine tasks. Ron and Mary Hulnick, authors of Financial Freedom in 8 minutes a Day, offer several tips to streamline money management chores. Choose one place in your home where you will regularly perform money-related tasks. Set up a place to store all supplies needed (envelopes, calculator, stamps), along with all records needed to pay bills, or balance the check book. Have a designated place to put financial papers as they come in. An empty drawer, or basket works well as an in-basket. Be consistent in placing all incoming financial matters in this "in-box" Put away all financial records and supplies once you have finished the task for the day. Devote regular small amounts of time to financial management rather than looking for a large chunk of time at the end of the month.
