Maintenance Less than Repairs

Whether it’s a car or machinery, maintenance always costs less than repairs. A bucket of grease is cheaper than a bucket of parts. That’s just as true for people. Taking care of ourselves makes more sense than having to stop for "repairs" and to heal. Many people complain about "burnout". They need to take time to refuel and have downtime for maintenance. Sustainability, whether in agriculture or people, addresses an ability not only to survive but to be productive and thrive over the long run. You and I need to remember to H.A.L.T.

Never get too:

Hungry - whether it is your need for food, spirituality or emotional support.
Angry - at your family, nature, co-workers, clients and especially yourself.
Lonely - even surrounded by people, many of us feel the "Lone Ranger Syndrome" Tired - and so weary that even a good night’s sleep doesn’t refresh us.
