Use It Or Lose It
Whatever you have, you have to use it or lose it. Weve often heard this maxim applied to physical strength and flexibility, but it applies equally to the intellect and spirit, points out Sir John Templeton. No matter how old you are, you must continue to think and create. In 1956 Harland Sanders, 66 years old and out of work in Corbin, Kentucky, put his knowledge and talents to good use. He loaded up his car with a 50 pound can of his secret blend of herbs and spices, visited restaurants and offered to cook chicken for their staff. If they liked it, he told them "Ill give you a franchise and teach you how to cook chicken my way and you pay me a 5 cent royalty on every chicken you sell."
Col. Sanders used his talents and knowledge to grow the largest and most successful chicken restaurant in the world and lived to be 90 years of age.
