Setting Priorities
William Bond, author and lecturer on career and time management advises to set long range and daily priorities. If you know what your long term goals are , you can make sure your daily actions are building toward them. To identify long range goals think about: what makes you happy? Do you prefer more or less responsibility? What activities - business or personal - bring you the most pleasure? What would you like to learn more about? What do you do better than anyone else? In what areas could you stand to grow and develop? Is your company growing away from traditional markets? Are more and more functions computerized? To accomplish your priorities you may need the help of those around you. Sell them on your goals, include items that are on your long term list and move toward accomplishing them.
