Long Distance Calls - Which Plan for You?
Most of us are probably paying more than we should for our long distance calls. Jane Bryant Quinn says, " If youre like me, youve got better things to do than to count up your long-distance minutes, calculate their day and night cost, then call six carriers to see which one would be the cheapest." There are some simple ways to lower your long-distance bills. Telecommunications Research & Action Council (TRAC) suggests:
1st - Dont jump at a special deal offered for a few months - ask what youll be charged when the "special" ends. Sometimes the rates are then higher and you can not return to your previous low rate.
2nd - Dont trust ads and the telemarketing reps who call claiming they can save you money. Check out TRACs "Web Pricer" at http://www.trac.org - you can enter your actual phone bill and let TRAC find the best plan for you.
