A: TVs made after 1993 with at least 13" screens are captioned. If you have the remote control, go to the menu button and cue it up. It'll give you some options and go to language > captioning. Some of the remotes are different, so you might have different options. But this should be the general rule.
If you are using a laptop and an LCD projector, you will need DVD player software that has closed captioning capabilities. Check your software manual for more information.
If you have a separate DVD player and an LCD projector (i.e., you are not playing the DVD through your laptop), you will likely not be able to show closed captioning. Check your LCD projector manual for more information.
A: First, your computer must have a DVD player. How do you tell a DVD from a CD-ROM? Look very closely at the outside front of the drive on the computer. There is usually some raised type molded into the plastic that will say either "CD Rom drive" or "DVD Player" or "DVD/CD Combo". You cannot play a DVD on a regular CD-ROM drive. Most computers, if they have a DVD drive, already have some software installed to play the DVD. If you don't have a special one for your drive, and even if you do, Windows Media Player will play DVDs. Click on the following links for details.
