Summary

The Missouri Small Business Technology Development Center (MO SBTDC) is focused on strengthening the technological competitiveness of Missouri’s businesses. Designed to improve the participation of small technology firms in the innovation and commercialization of new technology, the MO SBTDC program encourages and enhances technology research and development, technology transfer and technology deployment.   

This position serves as a statewide specialist to provide leadership, expertise, and training to University faculty and  staff, and private sector clients with guidance for commercialization of products and development of companies.  Candidates should have a strong background in evaluating innovative technologies for commercial applications.  Experience with technology and commercialization are highly desired.  The successful candidate must be a self-starter who is able to assist in the design of a formal technology transfer process/system.  He or she also must be able to build relationships with a diverse group of research faculty, business interest, legal and financial experts and the University of Missouri administration.  The ability to analyze technologies, collaborate with commercial interest and determine valuation will be highly valued.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:  A master's degree in engineering, business, science, or a related area with appropriate coursework and five or more years relevant experience is required.

Ability to travel and to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends is required to fulfill assigned responsibilities.
