Position Summary |
Regional Business Development
Specialists provide leadership and expertise to the local community within the
assigned counties with research-based education and information. This position
is primarily focused on providing technical and business assistance to Missouri
businesses interested in selling their products and services to the government.
The Specialist will provide government contracting acquisition and management
expertise to small and large businesses by providing accurate information,
technical assistance, clarification of contract standards and/or special
contract provisions, as well as and how to seek, obtain and perform on
government prime contracts and subcontracts.
In addition, develop, coordinate, instruct, and evaluate business entrepreneurial education offerings provided to the local community in the areas of strategic business planning, marketing, management, finance, capital formation, technology development, operations, human resources, government contracting, business start-up and business growth/sustainability, as well as other timely business related topics to assist existing and new entrepreneurs. As a business faculty member with the University of Missouri Extension, this position is responsible for developing and fostering community and academic partnerships, develop revenue generation opportunities, and actively participate in activities that improve economic and societal outcomes throughout Missouri. Business development is an important component of the state’s economic development strategy and the University of Missouri’s economic development mission. Qualifications |
Minimum Qualifications:
An earned
master's degree in business, or related area with appropriate coursework
exhibited is required. Ability to travel and to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends. Ideal candidate will
have two or more years experience in procurement, government contract
acquisition and/or contract management, and be able to demonstrate an
understanding of government procurement practices and regulatory
requirements of agencies, and familiarity with CCR, FED BIZ OPS, DGARS, GSA
FSS, and SBVS. |
