Extension Associate (Business Trainer & Consultant)

Description
Summary
The Missouri Training Institute (MTI) provides training and consulting services to improve business performance and organizational effectiveness for private, public and not-for-profit organizations. For more information about MTI visit http://mti.missouri.edu/.
This position delivers business training to a variety of businesses throughout Missouri on topics such as customer service, human resources, leadership, management & supervision, teamwork, training design & delivery, workforce development and more.
This is an academic position, requiring a education and experience business training. Some curriculum development experience helpful.
Characteristic Duties
Program Development and Delivery
Customize adult educational programs in business subject-matter areas such as human resources management, leadership, business management, marketing, planning and other timely business related topics for business owners and staff.
Teach adult educational programs in business subject-matter areas such as human resources management, leadership, business management, marketing, planning and other timely business related topics for business owners and staff.
Evaluate training program effectiveness and report training outcomes.
Possess group facilitation capabilities, public speaking abilities, knowledge of adult teaching/learning processes, distance learning techniques, internet use, and meeting coordination to ensure high audience satisfaction and learning.
May provide business consulting services in areas such as strategic planning, executive retreats, human resources, organizational design.
Conduct all activities in accordance with the Civil Rights Acts, Title IX, Rehabilitation, Americans with Disabilities Act and local, state and region affirmative action plans.
As with all positions, involvement with other duties and responsibilities may be expected in order to support the mission and purpose of MU Extension.
Relationships and Communication
Develop coalitions and foster multi-disciplinary teamwork among colleagues, individuals, and organizations to enhance the learning environment within the community and state.
Work effectively within the higher education environment, with the general population, partner organizations, culturally diverse audiences and county extension councils.
Communicate and promote the value and measurable impacts of extension business education to key stakeholders, employer councils and targeted decision makers.
May assist with developing and cultivating external funding sources to enhance local programs.
Demonstrated ability in written and oral communication, organizational skills, interpersonal and public relations.
Professional Expectations
Remain up to date in business subject-matter areas such as human resources management, leadership, business management, marketing, planning and other timely business related topics
Ability to travel extensively (mostly in-state) and to work flexible hours, including some evenings and occasional weekends, to fulfill assigned responsibilities.
Accountability
The MTI faculty is accountable to the director of the Missouri Training Institute.
Leadership Responsibilities
Leadership is provided through consulting and teaching business courses and sessions.
Minimum Qualifications
An earned bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience in business, instructional design, training and development, public administration, organizational development, adult education or related area with appropriate coursework exhibited is required. Related areas include marketing, management, human resources, operations management, e-commerce or engineering.
Professional experience in training and development, management, human resources, and/or consulting is preferred.
