Position Summary |
The University of Missouri – Extension Law Enforcement Training Institute (MU-LETI) provides Missouri POST certified basic, in-service, advanced and continuing education and training programs and services to law enforcement recruits and officers, as well a variety of other professional education programs to a wide, multi-disciplinary spectrum of criminal justice and other public safety practitioners and interested parties. Responsible for providing assigned MU-LETI instruction/training to recruits in the POST certified Basic Peace Officer Training Course utilizing adult teaching/learning principles and techniques to provide subject-matter area knowledge experience and expertise.

Qualifications |
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of post-secondary education in Criminal Justice Administration, Law Enforcement or other suitable field of study, and a minimum of five (5) years of full-time professional experience in law enforcement as a state certified peace office for public safety officer. Must hold a current, active Missouri POST General Instructor certification or meet the minimum qualifications to become certified as a Missouri POST Generalist Instructor. Ability to travel and to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends is required to fulfill assigned responsibilities. Additional Preferred Qualifications: Ideal candidates will hold a Master’s degree in a suitable field of study and have a minimum of three years of documented experience of substantial delivery of training and/or education services and supportive evaluations of the delivery of same.
