Position Summary |
The Missouri Small Business Technology Development Center (MO SBTDC) is focused on strengthening the technological competitiveness of Missouri’s businesses. Designed to improve the participation of small technology firms in the innovation and commercialization of new technology, the MO SBTDC program encourages and enhances technology research and development, technology transfer and technology deployment. This position serves as a statewide specialist to provide leadership, expertise, and training to University faculty and staff, and private sector clients with SBIR/STTR. In addition, develop partnerships and connect constituents with MU faculty research with commercialization issues, including working with the colleges of Engineering, Agriculture, Life Sciences, Medicine, and Veterinary Medicine. |
Qualifications |
Minimum Qualifications:
A master’s degree in engineering, business, science, or a related area with appropriate coursework is required. Five or more year’s relevant experience. Ability to travel and to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends. Additional Preferred Qualifications: Expertise in management, marketing, technology or product development & commercialization are critical. Experience with, or knowledge of, SBIR and STTR proposals, requirements, and agencies. Experience working with private sector and faculty entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurial vision and desire to work with entrepreneurs. Effective interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills are critical. Ability to work as a team with other faculty and staff.
