Annie's Project

Annie's project is a 18 hour farm management course designed for educating farm women.  Topics include:

  • Business planning
  • Estate planning
  • How property is titled

Health Insurance Education Initiative

This program was created to help educate Missouri citizens about the Affordable Care Act.  This program also provides excellent education on Health Insurance in general.  Many course participants comment that after attending the two hour program they have a better understanding of not only the Affordable Care Act but also have a better understanding of health insurance.  This program will continue to be updated as the federal law evolves.  This program is a one session program, offered at no charge.

Master Gardener

The Master Gardener program provides in-depth horticultural training to individuals throughout Missouri who then volunteer their time applying what they have learned to help others in their communities to learn about gardening and environmental education.  The Master Gardener Program throughout Missouri promotes and raises public awareness of the UM Extension as a source of unbiased, research based gardening information.

Thirty to forty hours of classroom horticultural education are taught by horticulture experts.

Education topics:  plant growth, pest management, vegetables, fruits, flowers, trees, shrubs, soils, the environmental and more.

Master Naturalist

Missouri Master Naturalist is a community based natural resource education and volunteer program.  Its purpose is to develop a corps of well-informed volunteers to provide education, outreach and service dedicated to the beneficial management of natural resources and natural areas within their communities for the state of Missouri.

The 50 hour course teaches participants about Missouri's natural resource ecology and management.  After graduation participants are asked to provide 40 hours of volunteer service on land management, citizen science, education and other conservation related projects in the local community and achieve eight hours of continued education annually.

Missouri Training Institute Supervisory Certificate Series:

MTI Supervisory certificate series is an on-site one to four day training for new supervisors and continuing education for managers.  Topics covered include:
