4-H Residential Camp Information
2017 Counselor Camp
Interested in being a 4-H Camp Counselor? Camp Counselors must be age 13 by Jan. 1, 2017, and no older than age 18. Teens will learn the skills required to become an awesome and effective 4-H camp counselor. Counselors will also plan and implement evening recreation and campfire ceremonies at residential 4-H Camp. Topics covered include: flag ceremonies, leading songs and games, homesick campers, positive youth development, camp theme nights, camp crafts, cabin fun and camp safety.
Join us for Camp Counselor Workshop Training on Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at the Polk County Fairgrounds from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Counselor Camp (overnight at Camp) will be held on Monday, July 17, 2017, at Windermere starting at 1 p.m. Attendance is required at both events. Cost of Counselor Camp is $30. The Camp Counselor application is due by Friday, May 19, 2017, before 4:30 p.m. Please return the completed application to MU Extension in Camden County Center, 44 Roofener Street, P O Box 1405, Camdenton, MO 65020. 2017 4-H Camp at Windermere
You are invited to join us this summer as we embark on an Amazing Race mission to explore 4-H! 4-H Camp will be held at Windermere from Tuesday, July 18 through Thursday, July 20, 2017. Curious about the camp site? For Windermere Conference Center check out their web page at www.windermereusa.org.
Join campers from the Lake of the Ozarks Region at our annual summer camp celebrating a wide variety of 4-H adventures. We'll enjoy old camp favorites like swimming, canoeing, caving, crafts, canteens and campfire ceremonies. Amazing Race activities will include the following:
- North - Agriculture
- South - Entomology
- East - Outdoor Adventures
- West - Arts/Crafts
- Cave exploration
- Cabin fun
- Swim party
- Souvenir Camp T-Shirt
- Amazing Race challenges
- Campfires and s'mores of fun
Camper fees for 4-H members is $130. Camper fees for non 4-H members is $140. Limited partial scholarships are available. 4-H Camp registration deadline is Friday, May 26, 2017, before 4:30 p.m. or until camp is filled. Camp usually fills early so please register early!
