Through 12 sessions, Step-Up to Leadership! • Presents content learning about specific topics a novice board member will need to know • Provides a learning environment where participants can develop self-awareness and enhance their understanding about human nature and relationships. • Builds capacity of community-minded people wanting to make a difference; willing to assume the responsibilities of board membership; seeking understanding about group processes and the complexities of collaboration; and are ready to take on the challenge of leadership. The program was developed collaboratively and piloted with the Missouri Community Action Agencies. It is also being used by the CAAs to train board members and develop local leaders for community action.
