Understanding the Soils on Your Small Farm
Thursday, July 31, 2014, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
950 W. 92 Hwy, Kearney MO map...
Soil is the foundation of every farm, both large and small, and it largely determines how productive an acreage can be. While soil is the base of the farm, it is very complex and always changing. This meeting is designed to help individuals understand the basics of soil. In this course we will discuss the different physical, chemical, and biological components of soils in our area. Participants will learn how to evaluate their own soils and determine the productivity and limitations of the soil on the farm with hands-on exercises.
Pre-registration is required to accurately provide training materials for the event. Pre-registration is requested by July 25. Reservations may be made by calling 816-776-6961.
