Hay Production Workshop
Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Lafayette County MU Extension Center
14 E. 19th Street, Higginsville MO map...
Over the last several years in Missouri, hay production has been challenging. Wet springs and summer droughts have made it difficult for farmers to produce adequate supplies of high quality hay. Furthermore, rising fuel and fertilizer costs have made it difficult to produce hay in a cost-effective manner. To help hay producers get the most out of their land, time, and hay equipment, agricultural specialists with University of Missouri Extension will conduct a hay production workshop on February 26th in Higginsville. The workshop will focus on topics such as the economics of hay production, forage options, hay testing and quality issues, fertility management, and nutritional needs of grazing animals.
Register for the Hay Production Workshop by calling the Lafayette County Extension Center at (660) 584-3658.
There is a modest $10 fee for the workshop for registrants who register by February 22nd. After Feb, 22nd, the fee is $15/person.
After February 22nd, the fee increases to $15/person
